Pride

Pride, Conceit, Self- Esteem, Vanity, Vainglory imply an unduly favorable idea of one’s own appearance, advantages, achievements, etc. Pride is considered all of these things; and is often, “a lofty and arrogant assumption of superiority in some respect” (Dictionary). Pride is a personal commitment. It is an attitude which separates excellence from mediocrity. Just like C.S. Lewis said, “A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course as long as you’re looking down, you can’t see something that’s above you”( C.S. Lewis). In general pride is at the bottom of all mistakes, and eventually Pride will lead to a fall.

To some people Pride is considered the root of all evil, and leads to all other sins. But to some other people Blasphemy against Gods name is considered the worst of all sins. They are both very controverting against one another. Blasphemy against Gods name is a sin, but isn’t God himself considered to be proud almighty being at the same time? Pride as well leads to mankind’s fall, but is that fall the same as the angels rebel against heaven? Pride is excessive belief in one’s own abilities that interferes with the Grace of God. Hence, forth does a person really consider Pride to be the worst sin in which others arise from?

Hey Terrika. I like the quote you picked by C.S. Lewis and the way you rephrased the question Ms. Weisman gave to us. That's the quote I was going to use in my paper too!

Love,
Johnny :P

I like your writing style! You sound very educated and informed on your topic. You got me thinking, is God himself proud, or just exalted? I like it! I want to know what you find out, it's an interesting topic.
